The Livestock Consulting Internship is an innovative program designed for passionate people who want to develop a career as a livestock consultant. Co-funded by Meat and Livestock Australia, the two-year internship involves undertaking consulting activities through employment with an established livestock consulting business while developing networks across the nation, delivering industry projects and undertaking relevant study. You will also participate in a variety of group activities, including retreats across varying production regions.
During the internship, you will develop the practical skills required in order to provide livestock production advice to producers. You’ll receive two years of mentoring, coaching and personal development, as well as have the opportunity to build valuable industry networks that will be the foundation for a long and rewarding career.
This program is for people who are committed to the red meat industry and consulting as a career. Applications are now invited for vacancies with participating employers. Current vacancies are with employers based in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Each employer varies in business operations and focus. As a result, the program managers (placing this advert) will introduce you to the suitable employer for consideration.
To be considered, you should have completed an agricultural science, farm management or relevant qualification in the last five or so years, demonstrate solid practical work experience and be willing to commit to not only the two-year program, but the industry as a whole.
